Van Eaton Galleries – Saturday & Sunday, September 25th and 26th, 2021 Beginning at 10:00 a.m. PT
Los Angeles, California – August 31, 2021 - For over three decades, Nancy Cartwright has given voice to a spikey-headed-10-year-old boy even though she’s a grown woman; she’s often been arrested for truancy and vandalism, yet she maintains a spotless criminal record; and finally, she’s repeated the fourth-grade dozens of times in spite of earning her college degree. How has she managed to live this double life? Read on, man.
As the voice of Bart Simpson, Nancy quite literally breathed life into one the most ground breaking characters in entertainment history. But she is also responsible for an array of other characters on The Simpsons, making her a versatile performer who’s proved invaluable to the longest-running scripted show of all time.
Not that her passions begin and end in Springfield—far from it. In addition to a myriad of other animated touchstones, from Kim Possible to Rugrats, as well as live-action films, video games, radio and commercials, Nancy is a generous and active philanthropist, and is a founding member of The Know More About Drugs (KMAD) Alliance. The Alliance was formed to help inform and educate parents and caregivers to the dangerous and/or addictive side effects of prescribed psychotropic drugs. The goal of the Alliance is not to tell parents or caregivers what choices to make, nor to give medical advice, but to arm parents with existing information on prescription drug side effects, so they can make educated decisions.
Cartwright is bringing many Simpsons gems from her personal collection to the auction block to help raise awareness and funds for the Alliance. Highlights of Cartwright’s collection include original animation cels from The Simpsons, items signed to Cartwright by fellow members of The Simpsons crew, and a custom The Simpsons Pinball Machine given to Cartwright and her family.
The Simpsons artifacts are a highlight of Van Eaton Galleries latest auction, It Came From… Van Eaton Galleries!
